Safeguarding

Maison Care introduces carers and personal assistants into private homes. Many of the people they support are vulnerable, and safeguarding is treated as a core part of how we work.

Our approach

• We speak with every candidate personally before considering them for an introduction.
• We ask candidates about their experience, references and right to work, and we ask for the checks appropriate to the role, including a DBS check where relevant.
• We discuss the household, the person being supported and any risks or sensitivities with the client before an introduction is made.
• We encourage clients to meet candidates themselves and to take up references before any arrangement begins.

Our limits

Maison Care is an introduction and matching service. We do not employ, supervise or manage the individuals we introduce, and we do not provide regulated personal care. Day-to-day oversight of an arrangement rests with the client or the person managing the household.

Raising a safeguarding concern

If you are worried about the immediate safety of an adult at risk, contact the emergency services on 999. Concerns about an adult's welfare can also be raised with the adult social care team at the relevant local authority.
